Who We Are

The Classic Motor Museum (CMM) is dedicated to appreciating, preserving and showcasing the rich history of automotive design and engineering, while training young men and women to gain the skills required to forge a successful career as automotive service technicians.

We have over 20 mint condition classic cars in our beautiful Exhibit Barn. We are also a meeting place for car enthusiasts, a venue for car shows during the Spring and and Summer, and we have a variety of special events for our members.  You can view our event calendar here

We are a 501c3 Nonprofit, with a strong volunteer staff.  More than 90 percent of our expenses are funded by generous donations from individuals and local businesses.

In addition, we sponsor an apprenticeship program for adults who are interested in a career in vehicle repair and restoration. It is called the Automotive Technician Apprenticeship Program (ATAP) and is approved by the State of Maryland Department of Labor. Looking for private space to host your own event? Our campus has three available buildings suitable for events of varying sizes and types. You can learn more about our event space by clicking here.

History

The Classic Motor Museum of St. Michaels was just a dream of a few car enthusiasts in 2012. After lots of planning, hard work and some good old ingenuity, we were able to get an Amish-built 4,800 sf Exhibit Barn completed in 2014. The Museum had a home, it had volunteers who nurtured it, and the Classic Motor Museum of St. Michaels was born. It opened its doors to the public in 2015. We have grown since then and now have three buildings on our campus on Marengo Street, the Pinkett House, the Exhibit Barn and the Struthers Family Education Center. We have also recently purchased, and are in the process of restoring, the property located at 906 S. Talbot Street. You can learn more about that project here
